I have a 60 gal. tank and suddenly it has a white build up on the things in it. The heater and the silicone plants are all covered in a white build up. It is waxy and is hard to come off. Vinegar doesn't work and I don't want to use soap. Although soap wouldn't even take it off my hands immediately. I have only seen one other post with this issue and it is too old to ask if he fixed it. This is his post http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f12/white-waxy-film-on-silicone-359622.html I hope someone can help because I have had a 20 gal tank for many years and have never seen anything like this. I think it is killing my fish because my fish didn't die quickly in my smaller tank.
