I just saw small white worms in some of my fish. I was able to take a clear photo for cardinal tetra, they are also present in my Rams but they are small.

Can anyone identify them? I am not sure if these are round worms or anchor worms. All worms are within the body and are not hanging out, also the area around worms is not red. My tank is planted, so not sure which medications to use..

Please Help..........

Thanks in advance,
Rohit

I'm not experienced in this area, but are the worms locaated on the tetras face by the mouth? or under the red stripe in the stomach region? looks like the face by the pics, just wondering cause maybe it can help others identify the type of worm and the proper treatment.

Read this article:

The medicine Praziquantel is available at DrsFosterSmith.com. Check locally for it as well. The article also mentions that the life cycle of flukes is shortened at temps above 80 degrees. Keep your tank temperature above 80 degrees. Since it's a planted tank, I would remove the fish and put them in a QT, unless the label on the Praziquantel specifically says it's ok for a planted tank, but most meds are probably not suitable for plants.

Here's another link: http://animal-world.com/encyclo/fresh/information/Diseases.htm#Argulus

Potassium permanganate is sometimes used as a plant dip to kill off snails. I have read that it is a respiratory irritant, so use in a well-ventilated area.
