I use pyton water changer, very effective when you have multi/big tanks.

And yeah, people see my 10 pounds CO2 bottle and they alway say: "Is it to do the same job as an airpump?"

That's not a 400$ pressurized system to mimic a 20$ airpump I anwsers ^.^

Nice, yeah I use a pump and a trash can to do my water changes works nice. Stuff isn't cheap that's for sure.

That's awesome mama, i'd say a great start.

Thank you! We still have plans for 2 more 40 BRs and 2 more 55s. This is the second time we've built it out.

I use two Pythons to drain out the driveway when the weather's nice enough. The small tanks I mostly do with buckets. I can drain 3 tanks at a time this way. We have plans for a drain system but are still working that out.

You rock that's alot of tanks I'm loving the setup u got. Is it all freshwater?

Yes it is. We have kept several reef tanks in the past, but with as many freshwater tanks as we have, another salt tank would require more time than I have to give.

You guys are truly inspirational! When I get the space it's on ! I def don't have the tanks like you guys, but! If you lost power would your tanks still run? I make up for my lack of tank space by giving my tanks the best, even in a blizzard! Say hello to my lil friend! image-1463010640.jpg

If there a power cut, my saltwater will die... I didn't have put fish yet, I'll have them tomorrow, but with a power failure, the temp of the piece can drop at 0C° in 24 hrs, now outside it's -13C° in quebec...

I'm in boston, not quite as cold, last year we lost power for days, would have wiped out my tropicall tanks, not taking any chances this year!

Nice yeah lucky me 9 yrs I've lived here only lost power once

That a good run, So 3 -50% a week on your discus tank? How many fish in there?

I don't have a fish room to prove that I'm addicted to fish.
But I can tell you that if I magically got enough money, I'd have a fish house by tomorrow.
But I'm probably not the only one on here that would do that. LOL

I love my tanks but I would honestly need a drip water change system on huge fresh water tanks just to keep my sanity. The same with a large fish room with a lot of tanks.

Yikes, can i ask how you manage to do water changes on such a large number of tanks and still have time to eat and sleep? You must have a very supportive husband!

Wow your fish room is amazing! What kinds of fish do you sell? I saw a few apistos in the video but couldn't tell much more than that.
I'm not currently selling anything. We are still in the process of getting set up and there is a lot more work to be done. This is a good time to be working on that stuff anyway as I do not ship around the holidays. We both love Apistos and we currently have agassizii, gibbiceps, hongsloi, alacrina, rupununi, and panduro. :)

I do see what you mean. I've seen some really great systems out there but neither one of us are especially good at the DIY part of the hobby. The upside to doing as many manual water changes as I do is that it forces me to spend a lot of time observing the fish. You can get a lot of information about how your fish are doing if you have lots of time to observe them, lol.

Very! We were both already fish nerds when we met, so we truly are each other's worst enablers. :D
It's actually not that bad. A few days ago I did 50% water changes on every tank in the room (about 45 now) in around 4 hours. Draining 3 tanks at a time goes pretty quickly and I end up spending a lot of time waiting for them to fill up after they're drained.

You know.. I have to point out that I'm soo addicted to fish that I spend an obscene amount of time on a website talking about fish in addition to the time I spend taking care of all of my tanks....
