I see the back of a gold saum (love this fish), some cool SD, is that a festae in the middle? Cool tank.Mixed Cichlids, Spotted Silver Dollar fish. 120 display tank. Texas Holey Rock. Manzanita and Malaysian driftwood. 2x AC 110 power filters. Fluval lighting.
That is really cool. I was talking about the GT when I said gold saum, so many names for these guys but it's one of my favorite fish of all time. I had a gorgeous male who jumped from a tank about 3 months ago, even had a lid, he knocked it open. That male festae looks great too. Awesome taste in fish.Thanks. My tank is primarily a New World cichlid tank, focusing on RT "Festae". Pictured is an adult female Festae. There also is a young adult male Festae, and a few juveniles. Despite what you read, the Festae aren't that bad. Mine are far less aggressive than Convicts. The tank boss is a GT "Rivulatus". He keeps the Festae in line. I keep a few African cichlids as dithers. The Silver Dollars are the spotted "Maculatus". I recently added a juvenile Red Texas cichlid as well as a standard Texas.
Thank you! This is almost exactly what i was leaning twords. I have always wanted a green terror i think they r so beautiful. But i keep reading mixed opinions if they get to big for a 75 gal. Also do you think i would be able to keep tigar barbs with them?My personal preference is with American / New World cichlids. I used Africans primarily as dither fish for my South Americans. I have since moved most of the africans to a reserve tank.
You already have an EB Accara, as well as a Convict "Just one of those" and a Rainbow cichlid. I would add one RIvulatus Green Terror Male and a pair of Fire Mouths. You might add a small school of Maculatus / Spotted Silver Dollars for movement. They stay relatively small.
I've learned that you can successfully keep Africans with aggressive New Worlds, but its awkward. New Worlds = River and Swamp fish, Africans = FW Reef. Not a good combination.
Note: Both your tanks look good.
