How many cory's?

Awesome! Do you know of any other attractive shrimp safe fish? I was looking at Badis but then someone said the tank might be too big? Then I liked the look of rams but that doesn't look good for my shrimp haha!
 
I wouldn't do as many in a 55g, I've 9 in a 63g and it looks crowded at times. Gravel is okay as long as its smooth edged, rough edges can lead to infections.

I tried endlers, that bombed. The females kept eating the shrimplets. But others have successfully kept endlers with RCS in heavily planted tanks.

You could try something like ember tetras, they're tiny enough I'm not sure if they'd go after the shrimp.
