Here is a quick question. How do some of you store your Kalk? I am going to use a 5 gallon container to mix then store mine. The real question is should I airate the the stored Kalk? I airate my stored RO/DI water that I use as TOW. I am afraid that airation might drive up the pH of the Kalk. :?:

You do not want to aerate the kalk. You only want to make enough for 3-5 days. After that the kalk loses potency. Aerating the kalk will introduce co2, and will actually lower the ph, as well as cause calcium carbonate to precipitate out.

BTW, the only time I aerate my RO/DI water, is right before I use it. Water is a sponge and will absorb anything that is in the air that is pumped into it. It reallly doesn't take long to get the O2 level to saturation, and that is as much as you need :D .

Thanks Kevin! I didn't think I needed to aerate the kalk, but with the larger ammount I didn't know. :)
