40 gallon tank

Hello everyone! I was wondering what all of you think I should stalk my 40 gallon with. I still am working on building the tank and everything so it might be a few months before it's started but I'm looking for suggestions! I'm open to all ideas(filter, heater, substrate, etc...)

What city do you live in..this will tell me if you can obtain african cichlids easily..

Torrance California. My lfs does carry cichlids but I don't know what kind.

Look on graigslist in ur area..their are alot of private breeders..with alot better quality cichlids then ..pet co or pet smart...i can help you with some selection...julichromis or lamprologus for the bottom...rock dwellers...and hapochromis or aulonocara for mid swimmers...lots to chose from...just a suggestion...

40g also makes a great planted community tank. Nice for Cories and a big group of Neons etc...
