I agree. I would gladly pay a premium for healthy livestock.
As long as you have good gas exchange you'll be fine. As the article said, a surface skimming overflow and a power head aimed at the surface does the trick.
I would like to try this method in the future by incorporating it into an existing system. Making a plenum bottom refugium added on later and seeing if the nitrates lowered would be interesting.This was an interesting read: http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2002/9/aafeature

Went to Arizona, found corals I couldn't afford there. My son got me Christmas corals and I bought a few of these from a local guy. Got three different colors for $25.
