Awesome thank you. I'll Def try this out!
Oh no, MTS is kicking in again!
Lol my mom is like "you have enough tanks as it is!"
I bought a five gallon bucket.
Those and a good pair of 6" scissors are my favorite aquarium toolsFor those of us with hands bigger than a 6 year old's, they make these Aquarium Curved Stainless Steel Pro Tweezer Tool Live Aquatic Plant AK576 | eBay
Opposite situation here, my youngest daughter: Another tank, how many do you need?
I put this little bowl together one evening. Wish I had measured it first but I'd guess 10-12oz maybe?
It had a small bit of organic potting soil topped with Tahitian Moon Sand, bit of dwarf sag and moneywort planted, and dwarf baby tears floating. I also put in that piece from a marimo ball since my shrimp love those things.
Planting takes patience, especially if you have hands larger than a 6 year old
Cherry shrimp are fine at room temp. I keep mind at room temp which is about 68

I'm going to stop you right there. Cherry barbs are required to have a school of at least six fish. They will absolutely not fit in there. I recommend you NOT get a schooling fish. You should really upgrade to at least a five gallon. You can still use that one for plants, and maybe shrimp. One gallon bowls are not suited for fish life.

Curly bamboo like this. It's expensive in stores, but I got mine super cheap on ebay! All I do is change the water every 7-10 days with old fish water from a water change (or a drop of Flourish Comprehensive). Don't use water from the tap unless you've used Prime or something similar. The water level is low on mine right now as it's due for a change. As long as the roots have 3-6" of water covering them, these plants do great for me. No direct sunshine though. They don't like it, and will die.
