Yep, you can get a small media bag and put phosguard or GFO in it. That kind of media requires that water flow through it, so put in it not tightly packed. You should see your phosphates drop in a day or two,
I got my 4 bulb aquaticlife T5 fixture a few days ago and just got it installed. I now realize what a poor set of lights I had leading up to now. With the blues on greens are now gold I think it looks amazing!
I would stick with those bulbs for 8 months to a year and then replace them with ATI bulbs. I have (2) blue plus and (2) aquablue specials. I also have the same fixture you do. Here's my before and after:
