Hi all.. I've read that you need a male and female to breed assassin snails.. Is this correct as I only have one and have noticed I now have a lot of baby snails in my tank.. How is this possible ??

They actually breed quite a bit if there is an ample food supply.. luckily selling them off for a $1 is easy .

The one assassin must have been a female carrying fertilized eggs before you got them lucky for you. Those are prized among aquarists for keeping other snail infestations at bay. Its only rarely found in my city and I got them @ $1.96 ea. I got 5 and now 2 months later, I can count > 20 any time and other snails = 0[a few shells here and there occasionally].
