BB question

I recently added a sponge filter to my guppy tank so I could remove my AC70 how long does it take for the BB to get in he sponge filter?

I would wait atleast a few weeks. I also recently added a sponge filter to my tank, but in order to establish a BB colony and seed a second tank, instead of replacing.

Honestly I give need filter additions a full 4 weeks to ensure enough bacteria has built up.

It took 15 days in my freshwater tank and I kept feeding the BB pure ammonia for an extra 3 days just to make sure I got no additional spikes! I am giving my new saltwater tank the 4 week minimum treatment and then still plan having the water tested by a professional before adding my clownfish....

My take is already cycled, I just want the sponge filter to pick up the BB that's in the take already. Of just my small 15 gal
