What is the best flake food for goldfish and tropical fish? I already have pellets.

I am using tetra goldfish for both my guppies and goldfish.

Honestly none. Flake food can cause swim bladder issues in goldfish. It also makes a mess IMO. Best to stick to a high quality pellet like NLS or Hikari. Sinking for the goldfish. Either for the tropicals.

There really isn't anything to 'presoak' with flakes. What little nutrition they would have would be lost via soaking. Quality goldfish foods do not make flakes for the very reason they are not appropriate for fancies.

What she said. IMO, a gel food as the customary diet, along with fresh veggie and fruit, is the best diet for goldfish.
