best schooling fish

Looking for a colorful schooling fish that would occupy the middle level and also not mess with my angel. Any suggestions?

It could be the angel you have to worry about.
And how old is the angel?

Tank is 47 gallon tall. His body is about nickel size

I agree. One of the coolest fish out there. I really wanted to do a 30 gal tank with only clear fish

Since your angel is so young, you could definitely add some cardinal tetras to the tank. As the angel grows it wont eat the cardinals because it grew up not eating them as a baby.

But in most cases it is. Since cardinal tetras get to be an inch and a half long, they're big enough to not become food for the angel.
