I have a few questions about cory cats.
About 2 and a half weeks ago, I bought 3 green cory cats. I put them in my 10 gallon tank, that I thought contained just a betta (I had thought all my ADFs had died, but I apparently had one left) to quarantine before moving to a 20 gallon with skirt and neon tetras. A few days after having them in, the ADF died. Then I went away on a trip for 3 days. Upon return, one of the cories and the betta had died. One of the cories had a pretty nipped up tail, and died at the two week mark after purchasing. When I took that one back to the store, I bought some salt and put that in, and raised the temp. I only dosed the salt to half, since I was told cories don't like salt. Another store had green cories recently, but wasn't selling them because they had ich, so I figured it was possible mine could also have had it. I'm sure they get their fish shipped from the same place, so if one store got them in with ich, maybe the other did too. None of my fish had white spots though. I turned the temp up on Wednesday. How long should I leave it up?
Also, the green cories were hard to find. Once I make sure this last one is okay, I want to get a few more and eventually put them in my other tank. Assuming this one makes it, can I get another type of cories?
The remaining cory shows no signs of any issues. No nipping at all to the tail. Is it possible this cory nipped the other fish to death? All the others had been nipped, and the last cory to die was definitely nipped prior to death. It's hard for me to say on the others since I was gone for a bit.
The 20 has 5 skirt tetra (a black, a white, and 3 of the glo light ones) and 9 neons. My plan was to put the cories in there, and move a few of the neons in to the 10 gallon tank.
