IMO missing one 10g change made daily should not cause any nitrite or ammonia.
How are you getting the readings(.03?)
Something is wrong in your tank.
Your filter is overloaded,tank overstocked,dead something rotting in tank or incorrect test.
With the death of fish I will dismiss incorrect test ideas...

Honestly I would suspect them being the cause of the water quality issues all along. 11 goldfish will wreck a biofilter.
Don't use grade or age as an excuse for not knowing a word, look it up and get a lil smarter Regimen means your habits or your way of life, so to speak. So, my water change "regimen" is weekly 50%.
