Don't worry, I don't just go to the LFS and buy random fish, I really look into them and make sure that I can provide food and everything for the fish. The first tank I ever got was a 2.5 gallon, I saw a Pictus Catfish and told myself sure, he could live fine in a 1.5 (remember, this was when I was an idiot .) But after research, I found dwarf puffers and put one in there instead.
