Because of the hint, I am wondering if you are referring the the licorice gourami. Though, the sparkling gourami is smaller than that and is the smallest gourami that I personally know of. Though, to be fair, both species come with mixed ideas about their actual maximum size and I have heard different things so perhaps the answer is debatable.
