Hello everyone, I am trying to set up a 10 gallon semi-self-sustaining ecosystem tank. I really have no idea what I am doing. I have a lot of questions. How would I make a food chain? What fish would be good for it? Would I need a filter, or will plants be sufficient enough? Is 10 gallons big enough to have a small ecosystem? How often would I have to do water changes, if any at all?

Its possible to have a tank that's planted with fish and not do water changes but im not sure about food chain. Shrimp would be good and the babies could be eaten but I don't think they would breed quick enough....Youre probably best of researching different water bugs that are small and breed quickly for a main food supply.
