ID me please

Hey all. Hoping someone can iD this fish. It was sold to me as a Banded Rainbow, but the body shape seems wrong.

I am wondering if it is some type of Danio? It's about 1.5 inches in length. Gets along great in my tank. Just curious.

Two different fish sold as the same thing. The first pic is the suspect. The second pic also has my Boesmani. I know what he is. LOL

It looks like the right fish to me, just young. He should get that characteristic rainbow shape in time.

It looks like the same fish, the body shape looks slightly different but I think that it's because one is a female and the new one looks to be male

It's a bit hard to tell from your photos, but at a guess I would say Melanotaenia australis.
