I have a 46 gallon bow front and I currently have:
3 platy fish
1 molly
2 guppies
1 bala shark
1 chinese algae eater

Kinda sorta... I would rehome the bala shark because it gets too big for your tank, pretty quickly too. As far as cichlids, look at rams, apistos, or even a pair of angels. I think you'd be good with a pair of any of those, but only one pair.
