Just bought a 10 gallon fir my betta, quetion

I know I ha e to cycle the tank, can I take out one of my filter pads in my 29 and put in in my whisper inside tank filter and just put the betta in the tank. I think it will be ok because all the beneficial bacteria will be on the pad. The betta will be the only fish in the tank to start with. I might put more but I have to make sure they are compatible. The betta alone wont put out that much waste I should have enough bacteria in that old pad.

Yes it should be fine. Just do some water changes at the beginning and keep and eye on the water quality for a bit.

I agree it should be fine but to be safe I'd test the water daily for at least a week and do water changes if you see any ammonia and/or nitrite. Good luck!
