No, I've been to about 5 different aquatics stores & they won't take him, my mum won't let me have another tank, none of my friends who have tanks either have tropical fish or don't want him. Poor little guy

He doesn't seen interested in the others anymore, he's just minding his own business & if one of them comes too close to him, he swims away

How may have you got? I saw the 5 gold ones, then I zoomed in & saw a black one, but it looks like there are loads in the back but I don't know DX

Just those six, what looks like more fish are just reflections. The second one on the left is one I rescued from a pleco. Paid too much for him at the time, but it was worth it. He was a sad little boy when I brought him home. When he was done with quarantine, I put him in with one of my ryukins and he just came to life. He was so happy! I've never seen anything quite like it.

My old goldfish Squeak cost me £20. She was worth it though. But I've vowed never to buy fish from anywhere except a specialised aquatics store. All the fish I've had from general pet stores have died really quick

While it's true that you're generally better off buying fish from a reputable source, it's not a guarantee. An awful lot has to do with whether and how you quarantine. No matter where your fish come from, you should always quarantine them. The parasites they often carry set them up for secondary bacterial and/or fungal infections. If you treat just for those infections and don't get rid of the underlying cause, the fish will die.

The moor you see? Three dollars at Meijer, which over here is one of the worst places you can buy a fish. Their tanks are terrible. But every once in a blue moon, you'll see a fish with some potential. And because I like a challenge, I'll buy it as a project to show what's possible. They go straight into quarantine and get treated for the parasites they almost certainly have. Lots of water changes, good filtration and proper feeding. They stay there for a minimum of a month, usually more. Only when I'm certain they're healthy will I move them in with other fish. That particular one weighed ten grams when I bought it in January, it's now just shy of fifty. What I do is no guarantee, either, but my goal is to stack the odds way in favor of the fish's health.

I use Rubbermaid totes. You can get a big one for way less than a tank would cost. I have three and when I'm not using them I just stack them and put them away. Stuff like air-stones, pumps and tubing all goes inside so everything I need is always right there. A bonus is that they don't break like glass will.

I might be getting a bigger tank sooner than I thought! I just spoke to my friend & she has 4 tanks that she might be selling. They're about 27 gallons each so depending on if she's selling them, I might be getting a bigger tank for the goldfish :) yay I'm so happy XD

I've just found Dale BITING Chip. It looks like Chip has got blood & veins in his tail & he has a few missing scales! Dale won't leave him alone! This has only just started today. I just changed the water & now I'm treating Chip for his war wounds. What the hell has got into Dale? What has triggered this behaviour?
