New rocks

I bought some slate rocks offline...and they just got here. Should I do the whole boiling process before putting them in or is it safe to just give a rinse?

I would say depends where you got them from. All the stuff I've picked up from the fish shop has been just a soak / rinse (maybe with bleach and repeated washing after).

I always boil, you never know what kind of little microbes/bugs could be in the cracks and crevices.
