i think it can come in more then just purple dont take just my word for it hopefully someone else will chime in
 
That looks like a cyano bloom. This is a nutrient issue in the tank and can be resolved through time by feeding less, increasing flow, and using ro/di or distilled water at best.
 
So sucked all the bubbles out an on closer look of rock there is red spots so treating for cyano an see what happens

If no change I'll look in to bubble algae
 
That is cyno. I have the same issue going on right now and it is a pain to fight. I know the culprit and it will be a few months until we get the ro/di filter for the house
 
It's definitely not bubble algae. Could it be dinoflagellates instead?
