Several weeks ago I bought a pair of Peacock Gudgeons, and after two days in quarantine, they spawned. I removed the parents to avoid their eating the fry. Well over two dozen fry hatched. Most of them ended up dying due to their refusal to eat. I fed live baby brine shrimp regularly, and occasionally some dry foods to try and prepare them for addition to my community tank once they were full grown. Fast forward several weeks and I was left with four fry almost a half inch long. This morning, three of them were dead and the fourth wasn't looking too good. When I fed it the live baby brine shrimp it showed no interest. Are these fish normally so hard to raise to adulthood? I keep the water in the nursery tank clean with regular water changes, an air stone, and minimal flow to keep them from burning up their energy fighting a current. any other tips to for success here?
