Piranhas!!!

hello everybody

i have 6 red bellied piranhas and i was just wondering if anybody knew if i could put some sort of algee eater in with them with would an epic battle?????

It wouldn't really be a battle. The piranhas would just kill them

U just need to get sumthing big enuff or just keep the p's well fed i got 5 different species of fish and a lobster in with my red bellys 5 in a 60gal with no problems its all hit and miss only way to find out is to try

Im sorry Im misundertanding you. Are they the red bellies ypou get at petsmart? If they are then IMO you will need a MUCH larger aquarium.

no i bought them at Big Als,,, i dont plan on having them till they are full grown, i like to change up my aquarium every few months.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't red bellies, as with most pacu, scavengers... From what I have seen and heard they only go after dying fish. To me that means if they are properly fed they would be no harm to a healthy fish... I've never owned them do I don't know, and I pass them by at the store as their size is not for my tank.

No they eat live feeders so I'm pretty sure they'd attack another live fish,, I just want to add an Alge eater but I'll just clean it off myself,,

I have 3 suckers 2 small guys and a 1 foot one and a green terror cichlid a couple tetras n a lobster and my piranhas dont attack them theyd rather attack eachother than the other fish they actually just killed one of my piranhas on the weekend time for another trip to big alls see if they got any the size of mine

We need to clear something up. Are you talking red bellied piranhas or red belly pacus? Cause the fish in rockzo's pic are PIRANHAS not pacus. You can tell by the spots on them.
