Re-doing my 55 gallon

I have a 55 gallon tank, I am wanting to put together a tank modeled after the waters in south southwest Asia. Indonesia to Thailand area. Any suggestions for fish and plants? Peaceful and colorful!?!!

This is the choices I am leaning toward.

1 female betta
6 glass catfish
3 dwarf gourami (2females 1male)

I need a bottom feeder. Any suggestions? I am wanting a south Asia- Indian water model.
