snail eating a fish????

um i came home and my snail is eating a phantom tetra.... i don't know if it was dead already or my snail attacked it ???

It was most certainly dead or atleast almost dead before the snail got to it. I keep all kinds of snails and have never seen anything to suggest they could overtake a healthy fish. They do love to devour dead ones though! Atleast ramshorns do. What kind of snail is it?

I agree. I'm pretty sure the fish was dead before the snail arrived on scene. I doubt any snail has the power to prey on fish..they usually come in to clean up the decaying body. Unless your tetra was a baby and the snail was huge....

My apple(mystery) snail enjoys a dead or dying fish every once in a while...
