I just purchased some fancy guppies and swordtails for my 10gallon tank.

I was wonderign if different coloration swordtails can mate? I have a male and female that are a clearish with a reddish stripe and I have one female that is mostly red with a bit of black. I was wondering if the male and female of different colorations could mate...

Color shouldn't matter. Heck, species doesn't always matter when dealing with livebearers but in my experience with swords, they do seem to be a bit pickier than guppies about it. :)

Yes they will happily crossbreed. They dont know the difference, as far as they are concerned they are all the same species.

I have a male swordtail all over my female platies of different colors. It's exciting to see how the fry come out!

So platties and swordtails can mate and guppies and mollies????

Is there a chart somewhere that we could use to look at the crossbreedign posiabilities between liverbearers???
