It's technical name is Lobelia cardinalis. It grew very well in a CO2 rich environment, and is currently surviving without CO2. It's an extremely versatile plant when you give it what it needs. The 'dwarf' or 'small form' label that you sometimes see attached to it just means that it's in its submerged form.
