Hi all,

This is my black molly - as you can see it has a white splotch near its upper fin. It appears to be acting totally normal. Is this something I should be worried about/should treat? It just appeared today.

Hmmm, not sure. Beginning of fin/tail rot? or Columnaris? I would look both of those up with associated symptoms and start with water changes for any imperfect water parameters. Also, I’ve learned recently to pay particular attention to pH, GH, and KH with mollies to ensure good osmoregulation and buffering against large swings in pH. Just a place to start, good luck!
