Thank you I got really excited when that nitrite text finally turn a purple color instead of blue. I about jumped for joy. Lol. Do I need to turn the heat down to 78? It at 84 now or wait

Do I need to turn the heat down to 78 now? I have it on 82

Ok so I about to add more ammonia to the tank
I test the water level today

Ammonia-0
Nitrite-5.0
Nitrate-80

Thats good. Looks like you have enough ammonia consuming bacteria. Just need the nitrite consuming bacteria to grow now. That generally takes a little more time. But, step 1 is complete.

I would also do a 50% water change in a couple of days if your nitrite doesn't come down to keep at in a readable level. Water change then dose your ammonia.

So I did a partial water change yesterday redosed my ammonia. So I just checked my levels

Ammonia-0.25

Nitrite-2.0

Nitrate-80

So I guess I need to add more ammonia til gets back up to 2.0

So I tested my levels again today
My ammonia is back up
Ammonia-2.0
Nitrite-2.0
Nitrate-160
I think it was 160 yesterday but my son said it was 80
So I guess everything right on track

So I got my ammonia back up to 2.0
My nitrite still 2.0
My nitrate still 160

Ok so I put some more ammonia stuff in now my level are
