Day 20,
I’ve chopped a few stems and I’m happy with the growth so far. Algae free but I’m having a few dramas with the rotala Mac green. Few of the tops are shriveled like they used to in the 60g. Not really sure the cause at this stage but I did stop dosing for 3 days by accident [emoji23] new growth looks promising [emoji106]

My Proserpinica. palustris stems didn’t like the conditions and basically melted and died [emoji17] I’ve replanted it more to the front for the moment hoping it will get abit more light and revive itself [emoji23]

Soo bit of an update on the current situation...
My 30c is still sitting fully scaped with no substrate... waiting patiently.

The Ada 60p still hasn’t arrived [emoji37][emoji35] they told me it had arrived and would be shipped out the following week 3 weeks ago...

So this has given me so much time to plan everything it’s actually been abit of a blessing [emoji56] I’ve decided to really splash out on these builds. I’m rebuilding the cabinet from the 60g I already have, making it taller and adding light hangers. I’ll also be fitting a light inside the cabinet and painting it out.

I’ve purchased a heap of hardware for both tanks (60p,30c). The 30c has a HOB with a custom fitted surface skimmer and a nano glass diffuser for co2. I’ve also acquired all the plants for this tank.

For the 60p I’m using a aqua one 700 canister running through a Cerges co2 reactor (hoping it will restrict the flow abit). I’ve also purchased glass “poppy” pipes. I’ll be using a ehiem 350 surface skimmer along side the filter. Hardscape has been decided on and is ready to be transferred into the tank when it arrives. I’ve also got a plant list in mind and have purchased most of them.

Both tanks are going to be running from a 2.6kg co2 tank with a azoo regulator with a splitter.
Both tanks will also be hooked up to an auto doser. I’ve purchased a 4x1.5l measured dosing container feed both tanks. 2 will be pps pro macros and 2 will be pps pro micros. These containers will hold enough micros and macros to feed the tanks for over 12 months between refills. [emoji108][emoji106]

I plan to cable tie all wiring inside the cabinet and also tidy all filter hoses and dosing lines. I’ll also do a tap connection for efficient eater changes on the 60p. 30c will have to be done the old fashioned way [emoji23]

The cabinets 1200 long and the tanks combined are only 900mm so 300mm space between the tanks will house a bonsai tree [emoji16]

Going for the complete package with this one [emoji106] I look forward to bringing you all pictures soon

To be continued

Wow - you have been busy! That all sounds very nice and looking forward to photos :) Every shop must be empty for miles around?!

I look forward to seeing what you come up with! I like how the Buce is flowering in one of the pics from above. Do you know what triggers flowering for Buce? I’ve never experienced any myself.

I think it’s the high light that’s brand on the flowers to be honest. They constantly have flowers in this tank. It’s either high light or the high nutrient content in the aquasoil. I’ve had buce in my other tank for a while and that’s high light also but with a sand substrate and they don’t flower. However that has a lot of plant mass so it may be lacking in a nutrient that’s getting soaked up by all the stems.

One of my favourite plants for sure [emoji106]

The tank has arrived! I’ve setup my scape in the 60p just need to add details (small rocks and rubble) but so far really happy with it!
This tank is going to be majority ferns, anubias, buce etc

I also need to pull down the 60g tank and setup a temp tank so I can store the fish rebuild the stand ready for these 2 tanks.

Still need to put the substrate in the 30c but here’s a picture of what they will look like side by side (but around the other way 30c on the right)

Also some pictures of all the shopping I have been doing [emoji7][emoji7]

Very nice! If you can get your hands on Anubias nana “Pinto” for a reasonable price, look into it. It is a great contrast plant!

Unfortunately I’ve looked far and wide for it and never been able to obtain any [emoji20] such a lovely plant! I’ve got a heap of anubias nana petite that I’ll be using tho [emoji16]

Busy day on the tools! I’ve torn down the 60g and moved all the plants I require to other tanks and set up a temporary tank for holding the fish [emoji225]!

Took the stand out and adjusted the height by 200mm. Fresh coat of paint has been put on and light hangers installed. Also installed a small shelf inside for the auto doser.

Could say I’m getting a little excited! [emoji38][emoji38]

Here’s a few pics

Looks really good! Are you in Tassie? Must be slow getting paint to dry.

Haha certainly am! Yea it’s still a little bit tacky today. Was 4 degrees over night so it didn’t get much drying done [emoji37] I was hoping to start the under cabinet stuff today but I think it will have to wait till tomorrow [emoji35]

Paint finally dried so I’ve started to put things into place. Still need to drill holes in the cabinet for power leads but I’ve mounted the reactor, auto doser, positioned the auto dosing containers, set up the co2 splitter, drilled all the holes for dosing hoses/filter hoses. I’ve also mounted the cabinet lighting.

Next up is power lead holes, running in all the dosing lines, co2 lines. I’ll also be putting a quick water change system in like I did with my 60h with a series of taps and joiners and a garden hose connection.

My dream is coming alive and I couldn’t be happier [emoji7][emoji16]

Can’t decide what I like more: above or within the cabinet. Both look like artwork to me. Good job!

Thanks fresh [emoji16][emoji106] how’s the Blackwater coming along? I haven’t seen it for ages!

Looks great! I like how the roots of the driftwood run over the lava rock in the tank on the right.
