Hey guys,
So as some of you know I have a 220 gallon aquarium that I will be restocking in a few months. But I just can't decide what to put in it. I was thinking something like this

1 Arowana
1 BGK
3 Sengal Bichirs
1 Peacock Bass
1 Common Pleco
1 Shovelnose Catfish
4 Angel Fish
4 Silver Dollars

Or something like this

1 Arowana
1 Common Pleco
2 Peacock Bass
1 Oscar
2 Red Devil Cichlids
1 Green Terror
2 Jack Dempseys
2 Black Comvicts
1 Jaguar Cichlid
1 Lima Shovel Nose Catfish

I know the second one is a bit much but I just can't decide. What do you guys think? Any cool fish I should add or take out? Any suggestions are appreciated but I can't do a planted tank.

The second set sounds good, do they all get along? A JD and Oscar and green terror?

There will most likely be fighting but I'm thinking that if I provide enough cover they should be fine and once they all reach around the same size it should be a pretty equal fight.

I know the second one was overstocked but what's wrong with the first one?

Arowana and shovelnose catfish can grow well over 3 feet in length your tank is too small for either of these fish much less both

I looked it up online an it said the Lima Shovel Nose Catfish get to about 20 inches.

Well I am glad the arowana is out of the picture shovelnose catfish in general while being a large predatory fish are very easily startled resulting in fast sparatic swimming that can damage the fish, tank, or both. I would just hate for 220 gallons of water and fish to end up in your living room floor

Yeah me too lol. That would be expensive to replace the tank and the damage from the water.

Try and make the room more water friendly...

Should I do a few cichlids or something more like the first one I mentioned.

judging by this list, it looks like you really want Monster fish. :ROFLMAO:

I have a 225 gallon. I currently keep......

1x Oscar
1x Severum
1x Leporinus
1x Flagtail prochilodus
6x Silver Dollars

Before that setup, I used to have

8x Discus
1x Black Ghost Knife
15x Rummynose tetras
4x German Blue Rams
6x Corydoras

Filters -- I ran 1 Fluval FX5 and 2 Aquaclear 110
just some ideas.

Couldn't you keep more? How big do flagtails get?

Flagtails grow up to 12-15 inches
And they eat and clean all the algae in the tank (y)

Potentially, I can keep more fish. But I wanted a low maintenance tank.

More fish = More waste.
And the extra space means less aggression and less ammonia/nitrate problems.

Yeah I have fish in there now and it looks empty... So I want to get bigger fish.

what fish do you currently have?

If the tank looks empty, add more decorations!
Add a long piece of driftwood or lots of branches.

Please remember, many of the fish listed will GROW!

so whilst the tank may look empty now, the space will be filled up

My current stock

2 Rainbow Fish
2 Blood Parrots
1 Angelfish
2 ID Sharks
1 Dwarf Gourami
1 Silver Dollar
1 BGK
1 Fire Eel
1 Senegal Bichir
1 Guppy
