Since I work mids currently, I have a BUNCH of free time and found the best site so far with many plecos and their names and L #'s. Check this site out for all those mystery plecs http://www.ekkwill.com/wildplecos.html .... also their main site http://www.ekkwill.com/index.html .... Many cool pictures in their picture gallery. Also, It's kind of cool to see where the fish you buy at the stores come from and how they are raised.

This is a good site. But I think you'll find that www.planetcatfish.com is the most comprehensive source of Pleco information. Simply go to this link http://www.planetcatfish.com/core/index.htm for the listing of all known and described catfish species. Click on the link to the right that says "common names" and you'll get a huge list of species. Zoom down to "L" and you'll get all the L-number plecs that they have listed. Other common names are dispersed throughout the rest of the alphabet.

I'm disapointed by the site at the moment, though. You used to be able to sort by family and get the comprehensive list. Now it seems to limit you to a few species in each family. Just FYI, plecs are under the family Loricariidae (thus the "L" numbers).
