Dark Red wire looking algae

Question: I have a unique algae problem I think.

I have some dark red wire looking algae growing on my live rock. It started out super small and now is growing faster and faster each day.

To combat this I have done WC every other day @ 50% total vol. My HQI is about a year old so my next step is to buy a new light. Looking to upgrade to LED once I figure out what to go with.

I can take some pictures when I get home to aid in the identification of this possible nuisance.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
