His fins are so straight. Wonder if the breeder trimmed them or if that is just how they grew?

I hope not! do breeders do that? They look pretty natural in person. Here's a different pic of him from a while back

I am not sure if they do it for looks or not, I have read that they do it to help with the actual breeding process tho. Your right tho it looks natural. Very sleek looking fish.

Although I don't have my betta yet, this is the tank I just set up yesterday to put one in. I won't get my heater until Monday after that it will be finished. I wish I had more decorations in there but I really don't feel like stealing any out of my other tank but I might just do that. Eventually I will put some more things in there.

I got a sprig of hornwort in all my betta tanks, they all like hiding in it . I either plant in the substrate or just let it float. Just a thought for the new tank....since my boys enjoy it so much.

Yeah I was thinking some more plants especially in front of the filter. As of right now my funds don't allow that unless I want to steal a plant or two from my other tank. Eventually it will all come together.

This is Toothless. He's the reason I now have a 46 gal tank cycling and am now obsessed with these forums. We had him in a small 1 gal tank and after having him for months, one of my cats took a sudden interest in him. I woke up at 3am one night to a crash and a gallon of water all over my dining room. Took me forever to find him, but I did and he survived. He's ridiculously friendly to other fish, even fancy guppies.

Woo! Got my girls this morning! Unfortunately I pretty much met the mail lady with them on the way to my car to get to work. Rushed inside and got them into some cups from Bettas I bought previously since I didn't have time to acclimate them or watch for aggression. Now that I'm home they are floating in the tank. They are soooo pretty!

wow! alyxx they are both awesome! The blue female would be an awesome match for my male veiltail They both are colored almost alike....And the white, well she looks snow white in the pics! Good luck with the fry too!
