ha! Just like almost everyone else, my first were goldies, but I think alot of people who start with goldies go on to other (bigger and better?) things. To me, they are still my fave. I do have a betta and assorted tropical fish too but my heart belongs to my goldies.

Had a blue betta with a red face, named him paintball. I was 10 years old, lol.

Back in the day prior to this cycling stuff :)...there were a bunch in that first tank..a 10 gallon with one of those little corner bubbler filters :)

Let's see...mollies, angels, catfish they don't even sell anymore (prior to the Cories becoming so popular), and neons...two each on the others but four on the neons because, and I quote..."they are schooling fish and will die if you don't have at least four."

I was, hmmm...11 or so so that was, well, over 30 years ago.

I was six at the time when my mother said I could choose my first fish, so I wandered from tank to tank until the words SHARK appeared, so naturally watching Jaws growing up, I came home with the feistiest Red Tail Black shark this boys ever seen or maybe because he was a 10g but I was six and that was 31 years ago. But I've come along way but still choose fish based on their wildsides.
