I took pictures of the underside plumbing on my 90g, its the easiest one to see. lol
The smaller hole goes from the sump to your return hose in the tank and the larger hole is where the water from the tank goes down to the sump, in the photo into a filter sock.

So will the water just flow down into the sump without any suction? That is what im asking about

Yep, its all about gravity. The only water that will flow down is the water that is above the notches in the tank part of the black overflow. When it doesnt reach that part the flow will stop.
Is that what you needed to know?

Yes thanks.

Alright. I have my plumbing planned, i think i know how to do it. So this is what i have on the buy list right now for plumbing- 2 shut valves, how ever much flexible tubeing i need, and a check valve, home depot had a spring check valve, ive heard they are bad and i should get a ball check valve. Where ca i get one? Also what type of return pump should i get?

I use a mag9.5 on my 60g cube and it works well.
You really only need one ball valve, on the return line just in case you have to dial the flow down. I put one on the input into my sump on my 90g but its totally unnecessary.

How much does that pump cost? Are springs really that bad

If its a new ro unit they recommed flushing it for an hour before using it, at least brs units are recomended to do that.

Instead of mag9.5 could i go with the mag7? gph is 700. Heres a link-http://www.marinedepot.com/Danner_Mag_Drive_Supreme_7_700_GPH_Water_Pump_500_to_1000_Gallons_Per_Hour_Submersible_Aquarium_Pumps-Danner_Mfg.-DN1119-FIWPSBFT-DN1125-vi.html

Wouldnt that cause the sump to overflow? If water is still pumping into the sump but haveing no where to go?

You're gonna have to test your sump and make a max water line. Basically you have to measure the amount of water that will flow into the sump until the siphon breaks in case of a power outage.
